About me
It was Pearl S. Buck who wrote, "Order is the shape upon which beauty depends." As a designer, these are words I take to heart. Before taking up design, I first learned about order. It was an elderly nun, my teacher in Catholic School, who showed me the value of order. She gave me the task of organizing the drawers of her desk. I took great satisfaction in the assignment, especially when it came to bringing order to the jumble of pencils.
As a young woman I travelled the world. In college I went abroad to study in France. From France I set out for India and then the Middle East. I travelled in Iran and Afghanistan. Everywhere I went I saw new things and new ways of living. More recently I have travelled to Peru, the Galapagos Islands, Russia and Ukraine. No doubt it was the travels that made me an eclectic.
Here are some other things that matter to me. I must have a library card and books in my life. I must spend time in my garden and go birding. I have membership in the Audobon Society and I serve on Nyack's Architectural Review Board. Without my guy, my dog, family and friends, I would be lost.
Kitchen and bath design has been my life-long career. I very much enjoy working with clients who call upon me to design highly functional and beautiful spaces to live in. While the mainstays of my business are kitchens and baths, I also remodel other kinds of spaces such as entry ways, closets, mud rooms, craft rooms or any other special purpose space.
My work has been featured in Country Living, New York Spaces, Hudson Valley Magazine, and more.
