Being Eco-Friendly
Ecologically friendly, nature friendly, green design - these terms define a point of view. This point of view respects our earth and strives to protect our planet, ourselves, our children, and our shared futures. Turning this lofty idea into a practical reality can be achieved by making some simple choices in the remodeling process. For example, in my practice I always recommend a water filter system at the sink. This simple step saves untold numbers of plastic water bottles from our landfills and provides ready access to clean water free of chlorine and other toxins.
Reduce your carbon footprint and your utility bills by choosing an energy star rated refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, etc.
Always choose cabinets from a company that manufactures in accordance with the KCMA's environmental sterwardship program.
Some of the KCMA compliance criteria are:
- Manufacturer actively recycles their process waste
- Maunfacturer uses hardwoods certified to come from an independent and credible sustainable forestry program
- Manufacturer has a documented energy conservation program in place
- Manufacturer must demonstrate community involvement and leadership through service or charitable organizations
We recommend cabinetry from CWP - a company that complies with the KCMA standards. In addition, their cabinetry is noted for it's value, durability, and use of non-toxic finishes, which makes their product one of the safest for your home environment.
We use paint with low or no VOCs throughout your project to protect your air and lungs.
Being Ecologically Friendly means we are committed to protect our natural resources and support environmental sustainability.
By taking simple steps we all can contribute toward protecting our world.
